The shield is surrounded in he left side by a coffee branch and in the right by a sugar-cane in order to underline the agricultural basis of its history and economy. The upper-left side of the shield shows an indian feather crown and two crossed arrows, which reminds the myth of Ceci and Peri and the oposition betwen the founding cultures : indian and christian-european (simbolized by the main catholic church). The rose simbolizes the floriculture (in its beginning by the early seventies). Down-right we can see the Conde d'Eu falls and the Paquequer river. |
